An essential component of our corporate social responsibility is to care for the community. We endeavour to make a positive contribution to the underprivileged communities by supporting a wide range of socio-economic, educational and health initiatives.

Health has been identified as a primary objective in the community development process. As a part of the healthcare initiatives we facilitate monthly free heart check up clinics, counseling sessions, health awareness programs, health camps to promote general health with emphasis on heart care and well-being in the community, in and around Kolkata and also across eastern India. As a mark of serving the society, our doctors are also regularly organizing free Sunday clinic in the hospital for the needy and the underprivileged. As part of society health awareness program, our hospital has been organizing CPR (cardio pulmonary resuscitation) training, which is a basic cardiac life support training, in different organizations like Kolkata police.

Corporate Social Responsibility of B.M.B.H.R.C.

Corporate Social Responsibility is the continuing commitment by business to behave ethically and contribute to economic development while improving the quality of life of the workforce and their families as well as of the local community and society at large.

Our hospital, B.M.Birla Heart Research Centre is run by a charitable trust as a ‘Not for profit hospital'. We have been privileged to receive the prestigious ‘Jamnalal Bajaj' Award for fair business practices which is conferred on the most deserving enterprise with an outstanding record for promoting fair business practices. Our annual surplus, if any is redeployed for the advancement of our facilities which we offer to our patients.

Apart from these, we organize free health and heart check up camp for the public on the days observed by WHO like world health day, world asthma day, world senior citizen's day, world asthma day, world diabetes day etc.

Our hospital also has a ‘healing little heart scheme' in collaboration with Rotary club to help poor children who require heart surgery. Our doctors even perform the surgeries for free. Apart from these, we have tie up with Cardiology Society of India for providing medical assistance to poor patients requiring cardiac treatment.

Health and education have been identified as the primary objectives in the community development process and thus we also extend our support on regular basis to meritorious underprivileged students for higher studies.

Many of the community projects and programs are driven by active participation from our employees. Our other CSR initiatives include donating during catastrophes, like in tsunami relief fund, earthquake relief fund etc. We are always in pursuit to make some difference in the society in some positive way.
